Inaugural Dedication of The Calvert County

On a Beautiful Saturday morning, the Calvert County Fallen Firefighters' Memorial was dedicated.  Mike Bowen, planner and creator, presented the Memorial to Fallen Firefighters families, distinguished guests, county department members and others.  The Memorial site located at Chesapeake Highland Cemetery, was an idea thought of 9 years ago after 9/11.  The memorial will have the three Calvert County Volunteer Members who died in the line of duty.  The service recognized not only the Volunteers who gave the ultimate sacrifice but active Volunteer members who had passed in 2009. The Calvert County Fire & EMS Pipes and Drums and So. MD Fireman's Association Honor Guard performed for the ceremony.
