Bagpipes - The band uses practice chanters and Great Highland Bagpipes manufactured by Gibson. Uniforms - The Band's uniform kilt was purchased from Sport Kilt. The kilt is the Firefighter Tartan, Which is the background of our website. The colors of the tartan show the colors of the Maryland flag as well as the traditional red and black of most fire apparatus. White Uniform Shirt, Calvert Co. Pipes and Drums Patch on left arm and the respective department of the member on the right. Black Kilt hose with Firefighter Tartan Flashes. White Spats with black buttons. Black leather Sporran with fire department shield. (Personal Sporrans i.e. White Horse Hair with Black tassels are worn.) Black Glengarry Hat. Activities. At present we primarily perform at regional services and ceremonies. To include; funerals, graduation, banquets and parades. Practices. Band practices are held every other Thursday at the Huntingtown Volunteer Fire Department, Co. 6. Practices begin at 7:30 pm. Practice schedules vary due to shift schedules.
